TAZ - LOV2
The TAZ LOV2 is a multi-function rope-access device for
work-at-height professionals. It is designed for use as a self-locking
descender and mobile fall-arrest device on compatible semi-static ropes, with a
straight rope path and locking sheave mechanism that grips the rope under load
when correctly orientated.
For professional rope access, the LOV2 is useful where
technicians need controlled descent, backup function and movement on vertical,
tensioned or diagonal rope systems. It can be used as a Type A safety device or
as a Type C working descender, provided it is used within the correct two-rope
system and in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical notice. When used as
a Type A device it must be backed up with an appropriate work or positioning
system, and when used as a Type C descender it must be used with a separate
Type A backup device on another rope.
The straight rope path also allows the device to be
installed on a weighted rope without threading the full rope length through the
device, which can be useful during rope-access setup, rescue planning and
work-positioning transitions.
It might even come in useful if you are an avid climber wanting
an option for top rope soloing, although this should only be done after
checking the manufacturers guidelines!
